Wisdom From a Local PR Giant

Sometimes it takes a while to fully put into perspective the indelible mark that someone has left on the world you two shared.

This has been the case for me when thinking about the loss almost four years ago of someone who had a quiet but unmistakable impact on the PR profession — Larry Werner, the former director of Ketchum’s Pittsburgh office.

While in 2001 he formally retired from Ketchum, an agency where he had a national impact, he transitioned into the role of very senior-level independent practitioner for the next 13 years.

Over several decades, he had hired and mentored a legion of talented PR practitioners who would go on to professional accomplishments of their own.
