We don’t just look for storytellers in a single communication situation. We hope for them in every meeting, on every conference call and in monthly town hall meetings. Companies need good storytellers to ensure that ideas spread across companies. Their stories make information relevant, relatable and applicable to what we do. And yes, we like to be entertained as we process all the information coming at us. But telling stories isn’t as easy as it may seem both in terms of how to identify stories that align with business situations and how to tell stories in a way that makes them memorable and repeatable.

In this webinar, we solve both challenges by providing insights into the listeners’ perspective and best practices that set good storytellers apart. In preparation for Sally Williamson’s third book, “Storylines & Storytelling: What They Remember and Repeat” (published in 2018), we conducted a third-party survey and focus groups. In this webinar, we’ll present insights from listeners about what makes information memorable and repeatable; share our research into the impact of storytelling in business settings and the surprising truths we uncovered; explore the art of engagement — how to pull listeners in; introduce the mechanics of telling a good story and the concepts that bring a more engaged storyteller into a corporate setting; and introduce the best practices of good storytellers.

By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the difference between a competent communicator and a compelling one.
  • Gain a deeper understanding around the art and science of storytelling — specifically, learn the art of engagement and how to pull listeners in.
  • Gain insights from listeners about what makes information memorable and repeatable.
  • Learn the mechanics of telling a good story and the concepts that bring a more engaged storyteller into a corporate setting.
