According to Pew Research Center’s “News Use Across Social Media Platforms 2017” survey, two-thirds (67 percent) of Americans report they get at least some of their news from social media outlets.

Within this statistic, Pew found that a majority — 62 percent — of respondents who follow news on Facebook are women, while 82 percent of the respondents who get their news from Snapchat are between ages 18 and 29. And if you’re using LinkedIn to obtain your news, you’re probably a college graduate — 59 percent of respondents on the business-oriented social media outlet have a degree or more.
