PR Blotter: June 2017

June 1, 2017

According to a recent study from the Association of National Advertisers (ANA), internal staffing and spending to support the PR function are slated to grow over the next five years. Sixty-two percent of client-side marketers say that internal staffing will either moderately or significantly increase during this time frame. In addition, 75 percent of the respondents say that spending will increase, too.

The study also identified trends that will shape the future of public relations — namely in the social media and digital sector. “The most important trends to the future of public relations are all digitally focused — social listening, digital storytelling and real-time marketing,” the report said. “It is important to note that these top three trends are interlinked. Digital is improving the quality of public relations, as it allows immediate outbound communication and inbound feedback.”
