You started reading this because of an internal question about whether graduate school makes sense right now, or ever. Having that level of introspection means that you already possess some of the skills and mindset of a graduate learner: “Can I do this?” The other part, which can be just as concerning is: “Should I do this?”

Note that the title of this article excludes terms such as “simple” or “easy.” We’re talking about graduate school, not making a quick nutritious meal. However, there are some things to consider that will make tackling the questions and understanding the process less intimidating and ultimately more productive.
