Why I Chose Counselors Academy

February 1, 2016

Editor’s Note: Michael Herman, APR, Fellow PRSA, who conceived the idea for this column, passed away unexpectedly early last year. His one and only column appeared in the January 2015 issue of Tactics. Members of the PRSA Counselors Academy will continue to contribute their thoughts in this space in Mike’s honor.

I’m writing this just before the holidays — the last thing on my to-do list, actually. I’m trying to project my imagination into February, when it will be published and think about the states of mind we’ll all be in. (It’s harder than I thought!)

So instead, I’m going to tell you how I came to be involved in Counselors Academy, what it’s meant to me and a few things I’ll be thinking about as its 2016 chair.
