By the end of 2017, digital ad spending is expected to surpass television ad budgets, The New York Times reported on Dec. 7. According to experts, TV ad sales are on the decline, and are expected to account for 38.4 percent of the $503 billion global ad market this year, and drop to 38 percent in 2016.

Meanwhile, digital ad spending is predicted to grow 17.2 percent to nearly $160 billion in 2015, and will continue that rise by 13.5 percent in 2016.
