Understanding the Process Independently: A Common Sense Business Development Approach

Whether you have received a Request for Proposal (RFP) or gotten a phone call from a prospective client, the process for winning a piece of business is largely one and the same. In terms of expectations, it’s good for the prospective client to understand the process as well.

For simplicity’s sake, let’s say you’re the independent PR consultant and you’ve just learned of the opportunity. You have to consider how you will proceed on three levels: building the relationship, creating the communications program and preparing for your presentation meeting.
