Introverts in an Extroverted Profession

Recently, I ended my five-year relationship with Facebook. That divorce has been a struggle for several of my friends, who have called me everything from stubborn to selfish for doing so.
The simple truth is that I am an introvert. I don’t get energy from being constantly connected with people; rather, I get my energy from withdrawing and spending time alone.

How does an introvert function in the extroverted world of public relations? That’s an excellent question. Here are a few thoughts to help my fellow introverts, and also to better educate the many extroverts who work in our profession:
