After a career in the hospitality industry that went from restaurant operations to sales, Indra Gardiner moved into public relations, managing some of the biggest launches and celebrations in San Diego including: the 75th anniversary of the San Diego Zoo, regional introduction of Sprint PCS and the opening of the W San Diego. For her work on the Zoo’s 75th anniversary, her team received the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) highest award, a Silver Anvil. She has represented hotels and destinations for nearly 30 years, including brands such as Kimpton, Hilton, Sheraton and Marriott.
For more than 20 years, Gardiner has led a variety of consumer-focused clients with creative, yet pragmatic, thinking in the fields of public relations, social media and event marketing. She leads the PR and social media team at i.d.e.a., and is managing partner for the firm.
i.d.e.a. is a full service creative group dedicated to producing powerful and culturally relevant work for national and regional brands. Gardiner speaks nationally on the subjects of social media, public relations and creative thinking, and writes regularly about the subjects at the agency’s blog, Great Matters.
Gardiner is the 2013 Chair of the Counselors Academy Section of PRSA. She also sits on the Executive Committee of the National Conflict Resolution Center (NCRC) and is on the Arts Advisory Committee for the San Diego International Airport. You can find her on Twitter here.
