The world is fully immersed in mobile, and video communicates ideas and emotions fast and effectively. Your audience needs to see photographic proof, or it didn’t happen — so bring them along with you for a behind-the-scenes look.

In 2013, 15 percent of video views were on tablets and smartphones, and in 2016, that number rose to 50 percent. Today, smartphone users spend 45 minutes each day watching videos on their phones, according to SMW Insider. And by 2020, 75 percent of video views will be on mobile devices. So, it’s important to understand how videos work on each platform, according to Adaptly CEO Nikhil Sethi.

Remember to pay attention to these key elements when creating your own mobile-friendly video: sight, sound, motion, share. Make sure you’re using the right platform for your audience before getting started with your video to maximize your content and engagement.

  1. Capture attention early.
  2. Design for viewers who will listen with or without sound off.
  3. Frame your visual story
  4. Play and experiment more.
