College of Fellows Welcome Letter

As the 2018 Chair, it’s my pleasure to welcome you to the College of Fellows’ “home” on the PRSA website.

The College of Fellows recognizes and honors outstanding members of the Society with 20 years or more in the profession who have significantly advanced the public relations and communication field. We provide leadership and support for PRSA through continued service to the Society in many ways as well as honor and recognize those who have and are advancing the profession.

If you are a Fellow, this is the place to connect with us to stay informed about our activities and about your opportunities to lend your leadership and support to our endeavors. I encourage you to consider serving as a GoodFellow, signing up for PRSA’s Mentor Match, volunteering to mentor college students or help with the College’s selection process or Induction Dinner. You can contact me or any of our College officers from links elsewhere on this page. Please let us hear from you.

If you are not a Fellow, this is the place to find information about applying to the College and requesting a GoodFellow.  The GoodFellows are a committed group of Fellows who offer individual counsel to applicants as they work through the process. The deadline for requesting a GoodFellow assignment is March 15, and the 2018 College of Fellows application deadline is 5 p.m. Thursday, May 3. We will celebrate and induct our Class of 2018 Saturday evening, Oct. 6 in Austin TX in conjunction with PRSA’s International Conference.

Mentoring is the hallmark of the College of Fellows, and we strive to be the source of helping professionals and students to aspire higher and be inspired.  We also will continue to be PRSA’s “home” for mentoring professionals of all levels of experience. During this year, the College of Fellows will continue to implement our three-year strategic plan in concert with PRSA’s strategic plan. We’ll remain involved with our partners in the educators’ community through our “Learning to Teach” publication and our annual session at PRSA’s ICON to help professional’s transition to classrooms.

As in years past, the College of Fellows will also create and sponsor a Master Class during the 2018 PRSA ICON Oct. 7-9 in Austin, and I welcome your suggestions on topics or speakers.

For now, consider what “Aspire Higher” means to you:  as a Fellow, as an aspiring Fellow, or as a PRSA member of any age, rank or career stature.  Being part of PRSA is about advancing the profession and the professional.  The College of Fellows is dedicated to lifelong learning for our senior most, experienced members and mentoring for all, no matter where you are in your career.

Here’s to a great year!

Deborah Radman
