Suburban Chicago Chapter

About Our Chapter

Just outside the Windy City, where the buildings are a little shorter and the air a little calmer, you’ll find PRSA Suburban Chicago, a tightly-knit chapter of friendly professionals from the Greater Chicago Area. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, our chapter has a member base of new and experienced professionals alike from every corner of the profession.

Our goals are synonymous with the goals of the organization as a whole—we exist to advance the public relations profession and its practicing professionals. From monthly meetings to weekend workshops and online resources, we provide well-rounded opportunities to help members meet their own goals as they help us meet ours.

First and foremost, we hold chapter meetings on the second Tuesday evening of each month. Good food, networking and interesting dinner conversation prelude a presentation on current issues from an industry professional. Included in past presentations have been topics such as advocacy campaigns, trade show marketing, crisis communication and more.

For further development, PRSA Suburban Chicago began hosting weekend workshops last year. These workshops focus on some of the “how to’s” of the profession, such as finding a job or earning an APR accreditation. And to cool off, every other month we drop the formalities and meet up at the most unique restaurants the suburbs have to offer. Over tapas, flaming Irish burgers or “Happier Hour” cocktails, we mingle and network in a relaxed setting.

In addition to chapter events, we publish news and information on our website and provide a monthly newsletter for members and non-members alike. These resources are meant to keep suburban professionals in-the-know about chapter activities and industry trends.
