Houston Chapter

About Our Chapter

PRSA Houston is one of the nation's largest and most active chapters of the Public Relations Society of America. We are your local career connection to the world's largest and most prestigious association for public relations professionals. Whether you are a student, a mid-career professional or a seasoned veteran, PRSA Houston serves as a gateway to career development opportunities. Founded in 1950, PRSA Houston focuses on helping members become more valuable to their organizations and clients, and more successful professionally, by

  • providing peer-based support;
  • encouraging professional growth through participation in educational programs and leadership roles;
  • providing opportunities for advancement
  • and promoting the highest standards of professional competence and ethics.

We invite you to join us for our monthly luncheons, breakfasts, after-hours programming, membership mixers, media tours and professional development events. Come improve your communications skills, build relationships and enjoy good fellowship through our programming and networking opportunities. To find out more about our next meeting, visit our events page.

We will host the PRSA Southwest District Conference April 24-26, 2019, in downtown Houston. The conference will bring together public relations and communications professionals from across Texas, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Oklahoma for three days of professional development and networking.

Our Job Bank, found through our website, is the best place to find public relations candidates in the Houston area. We accept postings for a fee of $150 for members and $175 for non-members. Additionally, we're always looking for sponsors for our events. It is a great way to reach not only the 400 members, but our wider list of 3,000 professionals who receive our newsletter and e-blasts regularly.

PRSA Houston is governed by a board of directors, represented nationally by assembly delegates and supported by volunteers. For more information on PRSA Houston, visit our website.
