About Bea Arthur

Bea Arthur, founder and executive director of a think tank called “The Difference,” is the first African-American woman accepted into the prestigious startup accelerator called Y Combinator.

As the founder of one of the first online therapy companies, “In Your Corner,” Arthur was recognized as one of the “New Guard of Women in Tech” by Marie Claire magazine as well as an “Entrepreneur to Bet On” by Newsweek. She also pitched her company on the TV show “Shark Tank.”

The Columbia University alumna and licensed therapist has been profiled by NPR, MTV, Elle, Refinery29, BuzzFeed, CNN, Fast Company and Entrepreneur magazine, among other publications, all of which praise her creativity and drive.

She has shared her insights with Forbes, where Arthur is an editorial contributor and digital media host for her career coaching series, “Bea Your Best.” She also presented a Tedx Talk on “The Culture of Comparison.”

Arthur is dedicated to influencing the future of therapy and mental health resources through “The Difference,” which she founded and serves as executive director of. She believes that the right talk at the right time can make all “The Difference.”
