PRSA Employee Communications Connect 18 Conference

May 16–18 | Nashville, Tenn.

Submission Deadline: 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017

Be a part of the PRSA Employee Communications Connect 18 Conference, an event with outstanding networking opportunities and targeted employee/internal communications programming.

Read through these guidelines carefully to ensure your proposal meets the criteria. Submissions are due by Oct. 27, 2017 11:59 p.m. EST.

Conference Overview

Our conference brings together employee communications experts who will address the evolving changes in the internal communications landscape. In today’s growing economy and rapidly changing business environment, conference attendees will be seeking new understanding, ideas and skills for planning and executing internal communications. The Connect 17 conference had sold-out participation at more than 250 attendees. This corresponds with what the section and the field of communications is seeing as a growing profession.

Proposal Guidelines

To participate as a session speaker in this conference, please submit an innovative and compelling presentation proposal supporting and related specifically to employee communications.

Presentations must be targeted to mid- to senior-level employee communications professionals. The strategies and practical applications in your proposal can focus on both traditional and new forms of communication outreach as they pertain to internal communications — whether social media, publications, intranets, strategy, planning, measurement, leadership communication, benefits communication or employee engagement. Previous feedback indicates that conference attendees are very interested in these focus areas.

Application Instructions and Rules

Please complete all information in our online form and submit it for consideration by the PRSA Employee Communications Section, no later than 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017. Applicants will be notified of final selections via email by January 2018.

Session proposals should be for 35–45 minute breakout sessions, which can be presented by an individual or panel of experts, or for a 90–120 minute tactics session presented by no more than two presenters, where attendees can take away tools to help them in their day-to-day jobs or 45–60 minutes Keynote Session.

All presentations must be detailed, thoughtful and able to provide attendees with knowledge and tools they can implement in their practice.

Agency proposals should include a client case study, with the client included in the actual presentation, if possible. Presentations from agencies, research providers, consultants, etc., will be considered only if they are unbiased, educational, informative and innovative. Pitches for a specific commercial service or product will not be considered.

In lieu of proposed session, potential speakers may be invited to participate in general panel sessions.

Please be sure to provide complete contact details for references. Failing to do so may result in the disqualification of your speaker proposal.

Speaker presentations will be collected and made available to conference attendees and Employee Communication Section members after the conference. Handouts are appreciated and will be posted online.

Speaker Expenses and Compensation

PRSA does not pay for expenses, such as hotel and airfare, nor offer speaker stipends. Speakers will receive a complimentary conference registration, which includes access to all general sessions and basic meal functions (a $700+ value).
